Moorfields develops a keratoconus predictor

Leading UK eye health hospital Moorfields has developed a calculator to predict the likely risk of progression of keratoconus in patients.

The main risk factor identified in research done to develop the calculator was patient age. Keratoconus diagnosed in teens tends to progress more rapidly than disease identified later on. Keratoconus often stabilizes in patients by the age of 40.
