Volunteer Needed for Optometrist Post Graft Training Clinic

Victoria

Another Volunteer Required for DOVS Optometrist
Post Graft Training Clinics

Thank you to everyone who responded to our recent call for volunteers for this year’s student optometrist contact lens training clinics being run by The University of Melbourne’s Department of Optometry and Vision Sciences in conjunction with Keratoconus Australia.

These clinics are an important step in raising the level of student understanding of how to fit complex contact lenses for keratoconus patients.

We still require 1 more volunteer for the post graft fitting session on April 16. If you can attend this clinic, please contact Dr Laura Downie directly by email at ldownie@unimelb.edu.au for further details.

The session for which a volunteer is required is as follows:

Monday 16th April: Post-graft patients only
– 1 participant for the 9am-11am session

The volunteer will be required for about two hours.

You do not need to be currently wearing contact lenses to participate in these clinics. You need only to have a corneal transplant to attend the April 16th clinic.

All contact lens fittings will conducted under the expert guidance of Dr Laura Downie and Associate Professor Richard Vojlay.
